It's been tooo long since we've updated you on the haps in the shack. We've recently caught up with a few of our bands and we thought we would report on the whereabouts & roundabouts of what's been shakin'. Oh yeah, look at that new logo kids, wheew! Ok, nuff of that...lots to dive into here. So without further delay, welcome to another fine edition of the Cabana 1 Records Swell Report. Let's take a look at what we have to cover here...

Ok, kicking things off here is the annual pop-punk mega-event heard round the globe, the 2010 Insubordination Fest! This years event is taking place once again in Baltimore, Maryland AND spans a very well rounded three days of total music mayhem & beer guzzling with the likes of the Queers, Smoking Popes, Less Than Jake, Methadones & Teenage Bottlerocket to name a few. BUT, our favorite sons the Challenged and the Prozacs will both be making appearances. The event takes place June 24-26 & more info can be found right HERE.

On that note, we are stoked to announce the Challenged have a brand new record dropping on Rally Records! Their long-awaited full-length is titled Loaded Language and you can download three tracks AND a killer video single to boot right HERE. The band has definitely raised the bar & we are very excited for the Brooklyn trio. We always said that you could expect big things from this band in the future. Congrats dudes!

Ok, we are also stoked to announce that the Prozacs will soon have a new release made available compliments of the good amigos over at VooDoo Doll Records out of Italy. The new release will be a split with Super White Garlic & will be available at Punk N Junk Mailorder sometime in July.

Not sure if you've heard, but the Guts frontman Geoff Useless has gone solo! Yup, Useless recorded a few tracks & our friends over at Livid Records have made them available to you all. Tell Me What hosts five tracks & can be purchased right HERE.

In other news, we've been told Regal Beagle has been busy recording a new track titled 'You're Too Shrewd' for a compilation being put out by Monkey Clit Records this summer. The Sheckies just played with Sloppy Seconds & Love Gutter. They will also be playing a part on that very same comp too. The Sheckies have been busy playing live & they have upcoming gigs with the Queers & Kepi Ghoulie later this month. For more updates & haps with the rest of our artists, head into the BANDS section.

We are stoked to announce that Punk N Junk Mailorder is back in action! They have a great selection of pop-punk records from all your favorite bands. We are also proud to announce we are now being distributed exclusively by the good folks at PNJ Distro Co. So, what does the summer look like for Cabana 1? Other than daily dawn patrols & some serious hammock time enjoying ice cold cerveza, absolutely nada. Nope, ain't nothin' gonna happen down here brah. However, Alma has been bugging me to get a new comp going this year, but we'll see. The Awesome Fest 4 is coming to town at the end of summer & some killer bands are on the bill. We'll be lending a hand to support any way we can & we look forward to seeing some great bands. Dig that shit HERE.
